| These docktor martens shoes are great! The soles are so thick and soft, but sturdy, its like walking on air. The only problem I had breaking them in was a huge blister on the back of my heel below my ankle, but pretty much all boots do this, so I wasnt too surprised. It took about a week of occasional wear, and now Im wearing them all the time. I do recommend thick socks, though. I think the fact I wore thinner socks at first contributed to that blister. These Dr. Martens 9728 boots are also very cute. They make my feet look really tiny; not that I have big feet, but I tried a different style and they made my feet look HUGE. I really like the D-rings and the fact that the laces go down almost to the toe. A bit difficult to tighten the laces at first, til theyre broken in and/or you get used to how the D-rings and hook are, but now its easy. The color is a bit off-putting at first. I dont know why Doc Martens decided to make the toe so much lighter, especially when it seems the rest of the shoe color is the original color, if you know what I mean. Its like they had to do something to lighten the toe. Very weird. But a nice dark brown shoe dye, rubbed in, will pretty much get rid of the two-tone effect. The shoe has a distressed look to begin with, so if the dye doesnt cover fully, its not noticeable. I also want to commend Zappos for such great customer service. A true delight when a lot of other sites can hide behind being an online merchant, ignore emails, and pretty much just be overall rude to their customers who are not quite satisfied. I had to return a pair of shoes and it was completely painless and the customer service reps were quick in their responses and exceedingly polite and nice about everything. Thank you Doctor Martens and thank you Zappos. |
