I just bought my second pair of these Docs Marten 9728 shoes. My first pair is at least 8 years old and was made in England and still going strong. I only wear Dr. Martins now and have 7 pairs. Every one of them has a distinctive look and is comfortable and durable. The leather is soft on these boots so they mark easily but they rub out and after a while a bit of polish makes them good as new. I dont think that these 9728 boots are really rugged enough for hard work boots or hiking. I would buy one of their dr marten more rugged models for that. I wear them with jeans and khakis at the office and walk on concrete aircraft parking ramps all day. The soles wear well and the shoes are comfortable all day. My 8+ year old pair still has good tread.
